When & where can my wrestler compete?
BTSC will attend competitions together as a team, all the dates for competitions are provided below. Depending on competition location, different BSTC locations will attend different competitions. Talk to the head coach of the location you attend to find out what competition your wrestler will be competing in.
On select weekends without completion, we will host practices/match days at the Midway location!

How does my wrestler get registered for competitions?
Register for the event on WrestlingIQ & BTSC will handle all registrations the week of each competition! Tournament fees are included in your registration fee. Note that note every wrestler attends every tournament.
How do I prevent against skin infections?
SHOWER DIRECTLY AFTER PRACTICE!!
Use antibacterial soap, & always wash practice gear. It would also help to regularly disinfect wrestling shoes & headgear.
Cleanliness helps keep our athletes free of possible skin diseases like the most common ones, ringworm or impetigo. If your wrestler does get a skin disease they should let the coaches know immediately. Getting professional medical advice is recommended.
Notes for parents & spectators
- Parents are not allowed to coach and not allowed on the mat
- We encourage parents to sit together in the bleachers, or bring a lawn chair, & film their child from the sideline.
- Expect the wrestlers to privately receive guidance & encouragement from coaches directly after each match prior to meeting back up with family.
- Wrestling tournaments are LONG days, come ready to stay for a few hours
- Any questions regarding coaching should be brought directly to the coach of your athlete
What happens when you cannot attend a competition?
If your wrestler is already registered, please inform your location's head coach at least one day prior so we can withdraw the athlete from the tournament!
How do I use Trackwrestling?
Trackwrestling is an online platform most tournaments use for organizing brackets, following wrestlers, & publishing results.
The first video will show you how to find your wrestler at tournaments and teach how to find when they will wrestle! It will also shows how to access brackets at tournaments. The second video will break down how to register wrestlers for competitions.
Being informed on trackwrestling is extremely helpful as it ensures BTSC coaches can focus on coaching rather than tracking down missing wrestlers at competitions!
What gear is needed & how can it be purchased?
Gear needed for competition:
- Wrestling shoes
- Head gear
- Singlet
- BTSC shirt
Gear needed for practice:
- Wrestling shoes
- T-shirt & shorts or sweats
BTSC will hand out singlets at the start of the season. These singlets are borrowed and are to be returned at the season's end for level 2 & at the conclusion of every tournament for level 1. Wrestling shoes & headgear can be purchased for a discounted cost at BTSC Midway (prices listed below), they can also be purchased online. A free BTSC shirt will be given to each wrestler. Wrestlers are expected to wear a BTSC shirt to competitions so they can be easily spotted!

What to expect during wrestling tournaments?
Wrestling tournaments are a blast, but can get very hectic! Especially when hundreds of youth wrestlers are running around one place! So plan for a loud environment within a crowded gym. IKWF uses multiple session format for most tournaments meaning athletes are typically done in 2-3 hours.
Expect each wrestler to receive at least two matches per completion. Wrestlers should also plan on arriving early for a team warm up at a time determined by your location's head coach. Lastly, bring healthy snacks as it is essential to refuel in-between matches!
Spectators are encouraged to come, but note that some tournaments charge a small entry fee per person!
