Mike Dixon Joins Team

After 18 years of coaching wrestling, including 16 at the NCAA Division 1 level, Michael Dixon has accepted the position of Director of Wrestling and Enrichment at Beat the Streets Chicago.  During his tenure as a collegiate coach, Dixon has helped athletes achieve numerous accolades including 9 NCAA All-American honors, 72 NCAA Championship appearances and 24 NWCA All-Academic honors.  In his 2 years as the Associate Head Coach at Indiana, both recruiting classes were ranked in the top 25 nationally.

During his time at Old Dominion, Dixon was awarded the 2015 Staff of the Year Award by the Student Athlete Advisory Committee.  Mike Dixon has also been an integral part of fundraising for programs as he was part of the development, implementation, and execution of ODU Wrestling’s Inaugural “Day of Giving” as well as oversight of the annual “Takedown Club Golf Tournament”.  Dixon was also very instrumental in Old Dominion’s transition from the Colonial Athletic Association to the Mid-American Conference for wrestling.  Additionally, Dixon has been instrumental in improving team GPA’s during his career.  During his 2 short years at Indiana the team semester GPA increased by 29% and the team cumulative GPA increased by 14.5%.
