Spring Regional Training Centers (RTCs)
Spring Off-Season Wrestling is open to all Chicago athletes aged 12 and up interested in working to better themselves! Six Regional Training Centers will be open from March 18 through May 31, with opportunities for both male and female wrestlers.
What to expect:
- Open practices starting the week of March 18
- Experienced coaches credentialed through USA Wrestling
- Committed athletes and accomplished clinicians
- Quality training for male and female athletes alike
- Weekend competitions, including "informals" and tournaments
- Opportunity in May to try out for two "Team Elite" travel teams and to continue training into the summer
Requirements:
- Each wrestler must have a USA Wrestling Card. (application below)
- BTSC Athlete Application, signed by a guardian
- $25 fee for the season (includes cost of USAW Card)
- Ability to get to the practice site
- Dedication and grit!
To take advantage of this opportunity, simply attend the RTC of your choice. Bring your $25 fee, the USAW card application (if you don't already have a 2018-19 card) signed by your guardian and the BTSC Athlete Application. You can download the forms here or get them at practice. However, wrestlers cannot participate until the forms are signed.

Choose the RTC site most convenient to you! All practices run from March 18 through May 31. All athletes must have a current USAW card, obtained through Illinois Kids Wrestling Federation (IKWF). See links above for USAW application and BTSC application and consent form.

- March 31 (Sun) - Freestyle GIRLS Informal at Chicago Hope Academy
- April 6 (Sat) - Freestyle Informal at Phoenix Military Academy
- April 13 - 14 (Sat/Sun) - Medlin Greco Camp - We'll take twelve wrestlers (let Coach Boyd know ASAP if interested)
- April 14 (Sun) - Club Cup (BTSC will send a full team; contact Coach Boyd ASAP if interested)
- April 20 (Sat) - Informal at Oak Park - River Forest HS
- April 27 (Sat) - Greco-Roman State at Lincoln Way Central HS
- May 4 - 5 (Sat/Sun) - Freestyle State at University of Illinois, Champaign Armory
- May 11 (Sat) - BTSC Team Elite Wrestle-Offs at Phoenix Military Academy
- June 1 (Sat) - Team Elite @ Beat the Streets National Duals in Chicago
