A Record-Breaking Weekend for BTS Girls at IHSA State

History made once again! This time by our girls at the IHSA State Championships in Springfield. Our wrestlers delivered a record-breaking performance, highlighted by Demetria "DJ" Griffin, who capped off an undefeated freshman season with a State Title. Not only is she the first BTSC girl to win an IHSA State Championship, but the first girl from Chicago in history to do so. Out of 17 state qualifiers, 9 earned All-State honors and a record 5 advanced to the finals, finishing just one match away from a title. These results reflect the hard work, commitment, and resilience of our kids—and show that the bar for girls wrestling in Chicago continues to rise.
