Beyond the Win: Our Unforgettable 2025 BTS National Duals Trip

Last week, we took 43 wrestlers on a weeklong road trip out east to attend the annual Beat the Streets National Camp and Duals, hosted at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.

Along the way, our journey was filled with new challenges and first-time experiences: spelunking in Indiana, hiking and cliff jumping in Virginia, sightseeing in Washington, D.C., and touring both Washington and Lee University and George Mason University.Once in Philly, our wrestlers connected with Beat the Streets athletes from across the country, participating in meaningful programming — including a Career Futures Fair — and building bonds beyond the mat. And to top it all off, both our boys’ and girls’ teams were crowned 2025 BTS National Champions — the first time in program history.

But while the wins were unforgettable, the most powerful moments came during the harder parts of the trip. From offering encouragement after a tough match to walking alongside each other while climbing a mountain, our kids leaned on each other in ways that revealed the strength of our community.Seven days on a bus teaches you a lot about one another. And what we saw was support, resilience, and the kind of connection that lasts long after the trip ends.T

his wasn’t just about competition or travel. It was about building something deeper — a community that grows together, even (and especially) when pushed outside its comfort zone.Pictures can’t capture it all, but we hope these glimpses offer a sense of the experience our athletes shared.

A huge thank you to Camp Out for Kids for making this journey possible — your generosity created memories our kids will carry for life. And to Washington and Lee University and George Mason University — thank you for welcoming our kids with such incredible hospitality. We’re grateful for your support!
